So, I need everyone's opinion on what films/tv shows/etc., that are streaming on Netflix, you would consider gems. Gems being precious, usually flawless (though we'll be less strict on how flawless) works that continue to be valuable over the years.
Here's my list:
A Boy and His Dog
An American Werewolf in London
Beyond The Black Rainbow
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
I'm looking for shinning examples of film, and tv, works you can go to with the intent of learning from them.
Jiro Dreams of Sushi
MAY 26 NEW EPISODES OF ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT. ZOMG.
There's one of those in The Substitute starring Marc Anthony.
My shortlist of movies I can't not watch over and over that are on Netflix:
The Long Goodbye
The Thirteenth Floor
The Great Mouse Detective
The Karate Kid
What Dreams May Come
^Is this a troll I see before me?
Good choices, Renfield!
that would be a bot, actually.
House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Derek, Arrested Development
I still get 90% of my movies on disc, and don't stream very much. In fact, I just checked this morning, and in my 10 years on Netflix, I've watched nearly 1000 discs.
I never would have fell in love with Doctor Who without Netflix.
Also, Firefly. Always Firefly.
