Well, hi there! So, my name is Melanie and I'm brand spankin' new. Not entirely sure what I'm doing here but I think I like it so far. I haven't written in ages because I spent the last two years being pregnant and losing my sanity with my beautiful toddler but I think I'm ready to get back into it. Mainly I do bizarro/horror poetry but my original genre was solid horror stories. Hoping I can get back into writing a story from beginning to end soon. I'm loving all the support and open-hearted kindness I saw in some of the posts I peeked at so I'm pretty optimistic. Expect to be hearing from me often. I apologize in advance.

Welcome to the LitReactor! Can I get you an aspirin, or something? You have something on your chin... no, over, over... there. You got it.

Please feel free to join/submit to El Workshoppo (that's French for ''The Workshop'), we need some more horror up in there.

Thanks for your linear, easily understood, unclever bio. BTW...you're hot.

Welcome, Melanie!

I'm delighted at the prospect of reading more horror. I mean apart form the natural horror on display here in the forums.

You can come stand by me.

I never have anything clever to say, either.

I got something to say
I killed your baby today
And it doesn't matter much to me
As long as it's dead

Well I got something to say
I raped your mother today
And it doesn't matter much to me
As long as she spread

Sweet lovely death
I am waiting for your breath
Come sweet death, one last caress

Sorry, I didn't mean to quote Professor Glenn Danzig of Misfits University at you. Welcome.

At the commencement brunch (traditionally held at noon) they serve omelets of disease.

Graduating classes are limited to one hundred and thrity-eight students.

[okay, okay]

Brunch is just $2.50 eggs for $20. Fuck a brunch

@Avery - I know right! I love it too, my favorite meal. All the hipsters' restaurants down town do really neat stuff with it, is there neat stuff going on in your neck of the woods with it?

@Eddie - Around here brunch is $2.50 eggs and all you care to drink bloody mary bar for $12 bucks so I think me and Avery might be talking about a very different purchase than you.

No, I just mean that I like to eat late breakfasts I guess.

My breakfasts tend to be so late I keep my abortionist's number on speeddial.

Actually that would have worked better if I'd established a stronger link between the "lateness" of breakfasts and the "lateness" of menstruation. I could have put some more thought into it.

Instead — here we are, kicking a can around in the car park of our lives, waiting for someone to save us from yet another weak joke about periods. Es ist so.

Couldn't just let us agree once about anything could you? Fine! I see what you meant, and agree that you meant you like to eat breakfast late!
