Lidia Yuknavitch Lands Deal with Harper Books For Next Two Novels

Harper Books, an imprint of HarperCollins, will publish Lidia Yuknavitch's next two novels: The Small Backs of Children and The Book of Joan.
Publication date: TBD. Or, not soon enough.
Lidia should be a familiar face to the LitReactor faithful, but for the new people in the crowd, Lidia is the author of the memoir The Chronology of Water, and the novel Dora: A Headcase. She's also an instructor here at the site, teaching some very popular classes. So popular that—true story—someone offered me sexual favors to get a spot in one of the sold-out sessions.
Chronology plunges a hand in your chest and wraps its fingers around your heart. She has this way of playing with language that just knocks me on my ass. The only reason I haven't read Dora yet is because I feel like I need to read Chronology at least once more before I move on to something new.
So, if you're not familiar with Lidia's work, now is a good time to get acquainted. And I'm sure I speak for the entire LitReactor community when I say: Good on her. A deal of this magnitude is thrilling, well-deserved, and also, not surprising in the least.
