Neil Gaiman to Pen Episodes of ‘American Gods’

As Gaiman fans out there probably know already, a television adaptation of American Gods has been announced, due to air on the Starz channel. But if you thought that was the best news yet, think again! Bryan Fuller has now provided word that Neil Gaiman himself will write a handful of the show’s episodes, reports io9.

Fuller revealed in a recent video interview that the first two American Gods scripts are completed, and that Gaiman will be involved in the entire run of the show. The infamous author has a history in writing for television. Such experience includes work on Babylon 5 and contributions to Doctor Who, including my favorite episode of all time, “The Doctor’s Wife.”

While his involvement in the American Gods series is set in stone, it has not been announced which episodes he will be writing—only that they will come “further down the line.”

Are you excited about the television adaptation of American Gods?

I've been waiting for this adaptation for a while, so I'm definitely excited that it finally seems to be happening after so many false starts. I'm glad Gaiman will be directly involved too. I bet you anything he writes the script for the House on the Rock sequence.
