Tonight's The Night: LitReactor's First Official Meetup in NYC

LitReactor's 1st Official Meetup NYC

Time to find out what happens when you take a bunch of writers and book nerds off the interwebz and toss them into a room with alcohol. Are you ready for LitReactor's first official meetup? Because it's tonight!

WHERE: Lilly O'Brien's, 67 Murray Street, Manhattan, NY

WHEN: 6:30 p.m.

WHO: A veritable cavalcade of awesomeness:

  • Me (is that not enough? jeez, fine...)
  • Co-founder and Editor in Chief Dennis Widmyer
  • Co-founder and Technical Lead Kirk Clawes
  • Director of Education Mark Vanderpool
  • Senior Editor Joshua Chaplinsky
  • Copy editor and columnist John Jarzemsky
  • Instructor and columnist Jon Gingerich
  • Instructor and author Christopher Bram
  • Instructor and author Jack Ketchum (couldn't make it)

Here's the bar's website. When you get there, head to the back, and then go down the staircase on your left. We'll be in the room at the bottom of the stairs. Bring bail money. And also non-bail money; it's a cash bar. Tip your bartender. The food is quite good, too, and the kitchen will be open.

Got any last-minute questions or concerns? Hit the comments. Otherwise, see you tonight!

Ugh, of all the times to not live in NYC, or have a private jet, FML.

Gonna be 3rd day in a row of seeing Dennis, Mark, and Kirk for me. Woo hoo!

Hey, so, Kirk said that we should do nametags. Maybe we'll make them an option?

Here's the thing though: It's too hot to walk (four blocks) to Staples, so I'm not going to get them.

If someone else does, I'll buy them a drink! And I'll bring a sharpie.

There's also a possibility that no one will choose to wear them, because nametags are dorky. So who knows. Might not even be worth it.

What do you people think?

That's right, rub it in.. You get to have them autograph your burly chest, and what do I get, nothing more than the disturbing mental image of your graffiti-enblazoned burly chest. What a cruel world.

See? This is why I should be living in NYC.

Of course, it is nice and sunny down here, in Miami.

But, man, how I'd love to be there.

@Rob - Hey, Rob. You're more than a good reason to go, LO... Uhm... hahaha? :S ... ahem, I read your article on "10 Words That Must Definitely Go" and LOL made the top of the list. Ever since then, I stopped using it. Damn it. Now, how am I supposed to express laughter on the Internet?

Anyway, would love to be there.

Very Best Wishes!
