WordsEye Turns Words Into Terrifying Images
Finally, a way for those of us who can't draw to terrify others with visual art.
WordsEye is a new web application in beta that allows users to type in text and have the computer-interpreted results manifest on screen.
The idea is that a user can type, using natural language, and create images by description. Think of WordsEye like a computerized version of a police sketch artist. Except, you know, instead of describing a criminal, you're describing a dinosaur with a birthday cake.
Once you make the image, say, the Hamburglar stealing clean needles from a clinic, the image is truly 3-dimensional, and you can change the view and see the scene from all different angles. Really FEEL the heartbreak of a hamburger mascot when he hits bottom and hits it hard.
If you want to know the technical details, you can check out a multi-page document here that spells out how it all works, complete with pictures of giant cats, tiny cats, and of course, the devil.
If you want to give it a try, head over to WordsEye and see if you can get an invite.
